Communities Facing Racialization Vulnerability Amidst Insufficient Human Rights Dedication

The future of racialized communities in Europe hangs in the balance, as does the future of the continent itself, if action is not taken to combat the escalating tide of racism. Political parties and candidates must confront and address narratives and policies that scapegoat and demonize racialized groups, as these trends threaten the very fabric of European society.

Kim Smouter, Executive Director of the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), underscores the increasingly dire circumstances facing racialized communities in Europe, where hateful rhetoric and discriminatory policies are becoming commonplace. In response to these challenges, ENAR has launched the ‘A Europe for All’ Roadmap for Change Manifesto.

This manifesto serves as a call to action, urging political parties and Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to pledge their support in the fight against racism throughout Europe. It outlines ten specific actions aimed at prioritizing racial justice as a fundamental political objective during election campaigns and forthcoming mandates.

Kim Smouter stresses the urgency of the situation, urging political leaders to stand up for Europe’s values of justice and equity and commit to combating discrimination. The ‘A Europe for All’ Roadmap for Change represents a collective effort towards building a more inclusive and sustainable Europe.

ENAR invites policymakers, MEPs, and the public to endorse the full Manifesto and join in the pursuit of racial justice and equality. By pledging their support, political parties and candidates demonstrate their dedication to creating a Europe where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
